Speech Language Impairment
BPS students may be eligible for special education services if they have speech or language impairments. "Speech or language impairment" is defined under federal law as "a communication disorder, such as stuttering, impaired articulation, language impairment, or a voice impairment, that adversely affects a child's educational performance".
Service delivery is dynamic and changes with the needs of students. Service delivery options may include classroom-based programming, traditional pull-out services in individual or small group sessions, team teaching, or collaborative consultation.
