Legacy High School students won first place in both the fall and spring North Dakota Stock Market Games sponsored by the State Securities Department. All Class A schools in North Dakota participate, as well as most other schools.

There were 491 teams of seniors who played the game. They are given $10,000 in fake money to invest in actual stocks. They can buy and sell during the semester. Teams with the largest gain at the end win the competition.

LHS economics teacher Matt Thorton says all of his students participated. The winning team in the fall consisted of Brandon Lawrence & Trey Ehli. The spring winners were Sheradyn Schmaltz & Bryce Reef. They will receive medals and certificates for their accomplishments.
