AVID Tutors - Bismarck High School

Application deadline date: September 19, 2014

Tutors are key to the success of the AVID program. AVID tutors from colleges and universities are trained to use specific teaching methodologies and materials to facilitate the AVID tutorial process. Tutors work with AVID students in tutorial groups, assisting in all academic areas to make progress towards college readiness. AVID tutorials occur in small groups (7:1 student to tutor ratio). Tutors lead tutorial sessions through inquiry and collaboration to help
students determine answers to their questions on their own and by working with fellow students.

Education/Certification: Current college student or college graduate

Special Knowledge/Skills:
AVID tutors are motivated, organized, responsible, successful college students or college graduates who believe all students can succeed. AVID tutors work in a supportive manner with secondary students (middle and high school), district, and campus personnel. AVID tutors serve as tutorial facilitators and do not act in a teacher or substitute teacher capacity. AVID tutors will need to complete required training to participate in this program.

Starting salary: $10.81 per hour

English Language Learning Instructional Assistant

The individual hired will assist students in learning the English language. Travel is required to other buildings within the District.

Starting salary: $15.22 per hour

Custodian - South Central High School

Application deadline date: September 22, 2014

•High school diploma or equivalent
•Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Goal: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean place in which to learn, play, and develop.

4 hours as a step 4 sub-custodian: 8am to 12pm. Hourly rate is $13.32 per hour

4 hours step 5 as a custodian 2 at South Central High School at Riverside: 2pm to 6pm. Hourly rate is $15.22 per hour

Instructional Aide/Noon Supervisor - Lincoln Elementary

Application deadline date: September 30, 2014

Instructional aide working with students of varying needs in the school setting. The aide position can be combined with a variety of assigned duties, including morning/noon supervision.

Also willing to accept candidates who only wish to do noon supervision.

Starting salary: $12.79 per hour

Instructional Aide positions are filled throughout the year from a pool of qualified applicants. Additional education and/or experience may be required for specific aide positions. Number of hours per day and hourly rate may vary by position.
