Child Nutrition Secretary - Hughes Education Center

Custodian II - Bismarck High School

Application Deadline: July 31, 2014

Hours: 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
Starting Salary: $15.22/hr

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Job Goal: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean place in which to learn, play, and develop.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas, neat and clean at all times. **
Shovel, snow blow, and sand sidewalks, driveways, parking areas and steps, as appropriate. **
Assure that all exit doors are free and clear of all obstructions and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy. **
Follow directions on container labels, carefully mix proper quantities of cleaning solvents as part of the preparation for cleaning activities. **
Sweep or vacuum classrooms daily and dust furniture. **
Scrub, hose down, and disinfect toilet floors daily and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily. **
Perform such yard keeping duties as grass cutting, trimming, and the like, as necessary, to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition. **
Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation. Must be able to operate floor scrubbers, floor buffers, and large vacuum cleaners. **
Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured and all lights, other than security lights, are turned off. **
Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to insure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity as directed by the Custodial Supervisor.
Clean corridors after school each day and during the day when their condition requires it.
Wash all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice each year, and more frequently if necessary.
Keep the grounds free of litter.
Clean all chalkboards or whiteboards daily.
Make minor building repairs.
Report major repairs needed promptly to custodian supervisor or designee.
Report any damage to school property to custodian supervisor or designee.
Remain on the school premises during schools hours and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and attendance is required by the principal.
Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the custodian supervisor.
Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash and waste.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Bus Driver - Facilities & Transportation

8 hours per day
9 or 12 month position

Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Must have a minimum of a Class C or higher commercial driver's license with a passenger endorsement - air brake endorsement recommended.
3. Basic First Aid and CPR
4. Must meet current DOT standards.
5. Must provide current driving record from North Dakota Motor Vehicle Department.
6. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.

Starting Salary: $16.62/hr

Detention/Study Hall Supervisor-Simle Middle School

Preference will be given to individuals with experience working with middle school students.
Starting Salary: $18.17/hr
35-40 hours per week/9 month position

This person will assist with Detention and In-School Suspension as well as other student supports as needed.

The position involves a great deal of physical activity.
The library assistant will work independently and under supervision and will need to cope with shifting job priorities.
The applicant should possess excellent interpersonal, rganizational, and technology skills.

JOB GOAL: To assist the Library Media Specialist (LMS) with library services; to provide guidance and supervision for students with the direction of the classroom teacher and/or the library media specialist; and to provide support to the LMS in all other aspects of the district library curriculum plan.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Guide students and staff in location, selection, and evaluation of both print and on-line resources. **
2. Provide students and staff assistance in utilizing library technology services. **
3. Circulate among students and staff working in the library, assist them with literacy and technology services, and refer questions that need more assistance to the library media specialist.
4. Perform circulation desk tasks and procedures, including interlibrary loans. **
5. As assigned, perform tasks of ordering, processing, repairing materials, keeping statistical records, taking inventory, and weeding. **
6. Assist students and staff in preparing bibliographies.
7. Assist library media specialist with maintaining library web pages and preparation of library publications.
8. Perform the tasks and procedures needed for the circulation of the daily mail, new magazines and newspapers, etc.
9. Shelve, straighten, and read shelves of resources.
10. Assist with promotion of library/reading programs, services, displays, book fairs, and other special projects.
11. Understand library associated district policies.
12. Help maintain a safe, productive, and inviting atmosphere for students and staff.
13. May be responsible for supervision and presentations for classes of students.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
