Day Treatment Aide - Riverside Educational Center

Application deadline date: Tues., May 31, 2016

Assist the teacher and social worker in providing services to students with mental health needs in an educational setting. CPI training and mental health experience/knowledge preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent and additional specialized training
or
2. High school diploma and one year of experience
or
3. Two years of college course work or an equivalent of specialized training
and
4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds 10% to 25% of a work shift
and
5. Ability to obtain a ND Paraeducator Certificate

JOB GOAL: To assist the teacher and/or program specialist to achieve teaching objectives by working with students individually or in small groups.

Starting salary: $15.67 per hour

Internal Displaced Instructional Aide Transfer

Summer Lunch Program - Will-Moore

Application deadline date: Mon., May 9, 2016

Bismarck Public Schools is seeking to hire an individual to serve meals at Will Moore's playground for the Summer Feed Program.

Hours are 11:15-1:15 Monday - Friday (excluding 4th of July) from June 13th to Aug 5th.

Food will be prepared at a central kitchen and dropped off at Will-Moore. Dishes will be picked up and brought back to the central kitchen. This person will only need to serve meals to anyone that comes to eat and track how many meals are served per day.

Starting salary: $15.67 per hour

Technology Support Specialist

Position Requires:
Associates Degree in a technology field*
Two years experience in a technology support position.
* Additional experience of at least two years beyond the initial two year requirement may be substituted for the associate's degree.

The person in this position will support users face-to-face and through phone communication and remote administration via the department HelpDesk. Knowledge and skill in maintaining and trouble-shooting a wide variety of computer hardware, software, and applications is required. Documentation of issues and
solutions and the abilitity to effectively manage warranty repairs is critical. Individual must have strong writing skills. Individual must provide excellent customer service (internal and external) . Some service criteria include listening, communicating, being courteous and patient, and providing timely and effective solutions.

LHS Technology Student Worker

Assist Technology Department and Legacy High School staff with projects, including computer support and troubleshooting, warranty repair processes, computer imaging, inventory, and digital product production.
Implements the Helpdesk and completes assigned Helpdesk tickets. Including insuring
courteous, timely, and effective resolutions to end-user issues.
Maintains and repairs computer hardware, software, and other district technologies.
Deploys and installs new and used technology equipment.
Follows standardized procedures for deployment, quality control, inventory, warranty repair, etc.
Assists with other tasks and projects as needed.

Hours will vary between 2 and 10 total per week during the school year with summer work available.

AVID Tutors

Tutors are key to the success of the AVID program. AVID tutors from colleges and universities are trained to use specific teaching methodologies and materials to facilitate the AVID tutorial process. Tutors work with AVID students in tutorial groups, assisting in all academic areas to make progress towards college readiness. AVID tutorials occur in small groups (7:1 student to tutor ratio). Tutors lead tutorial sessions through inquiry and collaboration to help students determine answers to their questions on their own and by working with fellow students.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
Current college student or college graduate

Special Knowledge/Skills:
AVID tutors are motivated, organized, responsible, successful college students or college graduates who believe all students can succeed. AVID tutors work in a supportive manner with secondary students (middle and high school), district, and campus personnel. AVID tutors serve as tutorial facilitators and do not act in a teacher or substitute teacher capacity. AVID tutors will need to complete required training to participate in this program.

AVID Tutor positions are filled throughout the year from a pool of qualified applicants.

Starting salary: $11.14 per hour

Instructional Aides - Elementary/Secondary (2015-2016)

Instructional Aide positions are filled throughout the year from a pool of qualified applicants. Additional education and/or experience may be required for specific aide positions. Number of hours per day and hourly rate may vary by position.

This posting is for Instructional Aide positions through June 3, 2016.

We will list a job posting for instructional aides for the 2016-17 school year this summer in July or August once we know what positions we need to fill.

Bus Monitor - Bismarck Public Schools

Bismarck Public Schools has openings throughout the school year for bus monitors.

Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. The ability to work with children in a competent matter.
3. Basic First Aid and CPR.

Reports To: Transportation Supervisor

Salary Classification: Step 3 - Support Staff Salary Schedule

Starting Salary: $13.18 per hour

Job Goal: To assist in providing safe transportation, as needed, to enhance the education and activities within the Bismarck Public School District.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus. **
2. Assist young and/or handicapped students in getting on and off of the bus. This includes knowledge of seat restraints systems to secure handicapped students. **
3. Assure that students get on and off the bus in an orderly manner. **
4. Make recommendations that will provide better transportation services to the students. **
5. Assist substitute drivers in navigating daily routes, as needed. **
6. Report any incidents to the Transportation Coordinator.

The performance responsibilities and duties may change at any time depending on the needs of the Bismarck Public School District.

Substitute Bus Drivers

Substitute bus drivers are needed in the district to drive for activity trips and fill in on bus routes as needed.
