Secretary II - Community Relations

Application deadline date: Sun., September 11, 2016

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. A minimum of one year of secretarial experience.
3. Spelling, grammar, punctuation and proofreading skills a must.
4. Preference will be given to individuals with experience creating and maintaining electronic newsletters, websites, social media, etc.

JOB GOAL: To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the community relations office for the maximum positive impact on the education of children.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Can be structured as either an 11 or 12 month position. Job schedule will depend on the needs of the individual and the needs of the Community Relations office.

Starting salary: $14.78 per hour

Lunch Computer Operator - Lincoln Elementary

Application deadline date: Mon., September 5, 2016

Two hours per day operating lunch computer and helping to supervise students. Hours are 11:00-1:00 each day and this position follows the school calendar.

Starting salary: $13.57 per hour

Lunch Supervisors - Wachter Middle School

Application deadline date: Mon, September 5, 2016

Supervision of the lunchroom.
Work and supervise students during 2 separate lunch periods.
7th grade lunch: 11:47-12:17
8th grade lunch: 12:32-1:02

Daily hours would be approximately 11:30-1:15.

Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Ability to work with children in a competent manner
3. Basic first aid and CPR training
4. Must be able to stand and/or walk for 60 to 90 minutes during the shift.
5. Periodically help students carry trays of food weighing less than five pounds.

Salary: $14.75 per hour

Secretary III - Bismarck High School

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 1 year of secretarial experience.
Proficient in computer skills which include: word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Internet, etc.

Background in bookkeeping is a plus. This position functions as the bookkeeper for the accounts at Bismarck High School among other secretarial duties.

Job Goal:
To contribute to the efficient operation of a school office so that it can play its effective part in the education process.

This position is 8 hours per day, 11 months per year.

Starting salary: $16.14 per hour

Bus Monitor for BECEP/Special Needs

Qualifications

Bus Monitor for Harlow's Route

ED Instructional Aide - Solheim Elementary School

Application deadline date: Thur., Sept. 8, 2016

Teacher aide to work in a resource room with an ED teacher at Solheim Elementary School. This position works closely with an ED teacher to support students with emotional disturbance.

This position is 6.5 hours per day and follows the school calendar.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma and additional specialized training.
or
High school diploma and 1 year of experience.
or
Two years of college course work or an equivalent of specialized training.
and
The ability to lift up to 50 pounds 10% to 25% of a work shift.
and
The ability to obtain a ND Paraeducator Certificate.

REPORTS TO: Teacher, Program Specialist and/or Building Principal

SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Step 5 - Support Staff Salary Schedule

JOB GOAL: To assist the teacher and/or program specialist to achieve teaching objectives by working with students individually or in small groups.

Starting salary: $16.14 per hour

Assistant Cook - Murphy Elementary

Description Assist with daily duties including food prep, serving, cleaning, restocking, cashiering, washing dishes.

This position is 4 hours per day and follows the school calendar.

Qualifications:

2. Experience in cooking
3. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, extended periods of standing, along with bending and stooping.

Instructional Aides - Elementary/Secondary (2016-2017)

Instructional Aide positions are filled throughout the year from a pool of qualified applicants. Additional education and/or experience may be required for specific aide positions. Number of hours per day and hourly rate may vary by position.

The schools will hire depending on the needs of the students/school.

AVID Tutors

Tutors are key to the success of the AVID program. AVID tutors from colleges and universities are trained to use specific teaching methodologies and materials to facilitate the AVID tutorial process. Tutors work with AVID students in tutorial groups, assisting in all academic areas to make progress towards college readiness. AVID tutorials occur in small groups (7:1 student to tutor ratio). Tutors lead tutorial sessions through inquiry and collaboration to help students determine answers to their questions on their own and by working with fellow students.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
Current college student or college graduate

Special Knowledge/Skills:
AVID tutors are motivated, organized, responsible, successful college students or college graduates who believe all students can succeed. AVID tutors work in a supportive manner with secondary students (middle and high school), district, and campus personnel. AVID tutors serve as tutorial facilitators and do not act in a teacher or substitute teacher capacity. AVID tutors will need to complete required training to participate in this program.

AVID Tutor positions are filled throughout the year from a pool of qualified applicants.

Substitute Bus Drivers

Substitute bus drivers are needed in the district to drive for activity trips and fill in on bus routes as needed.

Full Time Substitute Custodian

Qualifications:

Job Goal: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean place in which to learn, play, and develop.

The individual hired must be available to work various hours and shifts as needed. Split shift may be required.

Starting salary: $14.78 per hour
